It's Time for Colour

A travelling quilt show is making its way around the country and Thistle Quilt Guild is lucky enough to host a showing. CQA commissioned several award-winning quilt artists to create wall quilts along the theme of "It's Time for Colour". From these wall quilts, two travelling exhibits were created, one for western Canada and one for eastern Canada.

Our local CQA representative, Dorinda McCully, is bringing the eastern Canada show to our guild at the Westville Recreation Centre on Wednesday 22 April, from 12 noon to 2 pm.

Dorinda will introduce these quilts and talk about their creation. Following this, we will have a pot luck lunch.

This is a wonderful chance to see some beautiful quilts and it should be a lovely afternoon event.

April dates

Our next business meeting will be on Wednesday 15 April at 7 pm. It really feels like Spring, so come out to the meeting and see your friends! Sewing will be from 1 pm to 5 pm and we are making great progress on our guild quilt. Come out and give us a hand and we will be finished even more quickly. Pot luck supper will be from 5 pm to 6 pm, followed by meeting set-up.

There will be a sewing session on Wednesday 22 April, from 10 am to 4 pm. Dorinda McCully, the local CQA representative, will join us from 12 noon to 2 pm and will present the CQA quilt show "It's Time for Colour". We are very lucky that Dorinda has offered to come to our guild. It is exciting that we will see this quilt show.

As there is a fifth Wednesday in April, we have booked this as an extra sewing day. This will be on Wednesday 29 April from 10 am to 4 pm. If necessary, we will work on our guild quilt, but this will probably be your last chance to set some stitches in this beautiful quilt.
